Message of the day - July 19, 2005:

Hi everyone,

Once again I am taking my sweet time getting started on the BNSF side, at least I have a few BN updates to show for the month. Today I have one photo that is long overdue for posting from contributor Wes Carr. If you saw the "Party 2005" photo set, then you probably remember this shot of ES44DC #7695.

Well, Wes also sent a broadside roster shot version, so here is another view of ES44DC #7695 for closer inspection. For those of you not aware of the new BNSF logo, this and ES44DC #7687 were the first two units painted with the new logo, then several more ES44DC's were painted in the standard Heritage II aka Premium Heritage paint. It appears that BNSF has decided on the black logo version over the yellow logo version, as recently ES44DC's all have the new black logo.

I suppose what delayed my post of these photos as much as anything was coming up with some similar material to mix in with this roster shot from an exotic location by Wes. Well, it dawned on me that like Wes, I too have a few similar shots from exotic California locations that I have yet to post, so I may as well mix them in and make that the theme for the day, even if the new logo shot by Wes steals the show.

Enjoy!
