Hi everyone, Here are five more SD40-2's, including a couple units I did not have previous photos of. Most interesting in my opinion is SD40-2 #7812, a one-of-a-kind whiteface paint scheme which also happens to be the last unit painted in BN colors. The seventh photo of this unit from Curt Jans is probably not necessary given the nearly identical photo by Mark Lynn taken at the same location on the same day. I still do like to point out this unit whenever an opportunity presents itself. This is one of only two SD40-2's to wear the large BN logo on the long hood, the other being SD40-2 #8002, the original tiger stripe unit, later updated to whiteface. Note that the frame sill of 7812 is solid white, whereas 8002 has the more standard white ends with green (broken up by white scotchlite) in the middle. Enjoy, Charles |
