Got another handful of EMD's, specifially GP30's and GP35's from contributor Cliff West. Back when Cliff was asking what I could use, one of the specific requests I made was for GP35's. I find it odd that I've managed to get 38 of 55 GP30's yet only 15 of 79 GP35's up to today. I suppose the GP30 carbody has always had more of a fan following since it is a distinctive style, wheras the GP35 introduced a general body style that has not changed much since. Ironically, my favorite from this batch is GP30 #2230. I feel fortunate to have obtained a photo of it, since it was retired in 1974 due to wreck damage. Cliff also sent a couple photos of it after the wreck. Why it doesn't have a BN logo on the cab is beyond me. The paint looks good, but not so fresh that perhaps it wasn't applied yet. Now that I look more closely, there is a faint outline of the BN logo so it was probably there at some point. Enjoy, Charles |
