Message of the day - October 31, 2007:

Hi everyone,

I did get trackside for a few days this month, but unfortunately did not score five "pumpkins" during the month of October 2007. I should clarify that I only consider Heritage 1 to be "pumpkins".

Perhaps I could have reviewed my collection and found some appropriate material, but Dan Grobe has provided me a convenient resource, so this year he gets the honor of providing the annual feast of Halloween pumpkins. Not only did he provide some of the most appropriate "headless" subjects with two GP60B's he also provided a rather curious sample of a "pumpkin" in not one but two disguises! Check out this photo of C44-9W #1050. If you just look at the yellow BNSF lettering on the long hood, you might fall for it's Heritage II disguise, and if you only look at the air conditioner, you might fall for it's Warbonnet disguise. If ever there was a good Halloween "treat" this just might be it, with elements of three paint schemes featured on this one unit!

Enjoy!
