Message of the day - June 19, 1998:

Hi everyone,

Today I did my usual first active day of the month updates to the INDEX files, and posted ten more shots from new contributor Al Seever. Sorry for the long delay in posting, but I took a pleasant little trip (3 weeks) across the Atlantic to see my sister on her birthday (June 3rd). She is in the Navy stationed in Rota, Spain. Nice little town. I also made it to France and England, and got several train pictures, though less than I hoped for. We'll see if I have 40 good shots once I get the 5 rolls back. I did manage to ride several trains, and as luck would have it, there were railroad strikes in both Spain and France while I was travelling, so I got a few bus rides too (and bus pictures - including some extras for you if you are reading this, A.J.).

Getting back to today's photos, it's a variety of EMD's from old SD9's to a modern SD60MAC. One shot that I think is particularly nice is the roster of SD60M #9240. I used to live in western Minnesota, and while I don't miss the cold much, I do miss winter scenes like this one.... Makes me want to visit one of these next winters.
