Message of the day - July 13, 2004:Hi everyone,Here are another five photos by Moss E. Hulsey, all GE C30-7's. With these five, I nearly double the number of units I have photos of, going from six to eleven. Further, these are the first five in the blue and yellow paint vs. the first six being in SPSF merger paint. Since I have not studied the Santa Fe C30-7's that closely, I may be missing some other obvious details to point out, but I may as well point some things regarding one photo. First off, the date on this photo of C30-7 #8163 must be off, I probably misread it when taking my notes, as it would be quite a trick to photograph a unit built in 1983 three years before in 1980. While that may be easily explained as a mistake, the white numberboards on this unit pose a little more of a challenge. All the others are black, and while I am not about to review 200+ Santa Fe photos to see if this is the only such numberboard with this color arrangement, it did strike me as odd and therefore noteworthy.
