Message of the day - August 4, 2005:Hi everyone,Once again we have five red and yellow SPSF painted Santa Fe locomotive photos by Mike Bledsoe. This time we have a couple before and after pairs to inspect. Since I've started going back earlier than 1985, I happen to have a photo of SD40-2 #5022 in what I believe is its original blue and yellow warbonnet paint in 1983, and here it is again in SPSF paint in 1988. The pair likely to be of even more interest is the FP45. I suspect that the FP45 #5997 is in its fourth coat of paint when it received SPSF paint, and the 90's era red and silver warbonnet paint was it's sixth. If only I had photos of all six schemes, as well as all the renumberings. Enjoy! Charles |
